Targets
Waste management targets are:
1. Avoid and minimize waste and minimize hazardous properties of waste, especially through:
– Development of clean technologies exploiting fewer natural resources,
– Technical development and promotion of products that do not contribute or that contribute minimally to increasing the hazardous impact of waste and the pollution hazard,
– Development of appropriate methods to dispose of hazardous substances contained in the waste that it intended for recovery,
2. Recovery of waste by recycling, reuse or remediation, or another procedure that allows the separation of secondary raw materials, or the use of waste to generate energy.
3. Disposal of waste in an adequate manner,
4. Remediation of the environment polluted by waste.
The most efficient technologies available and economic feasibility will be taken into account in the attainment of targets in accordance with the principles of waste management and environmental protection.
