New schedule of educational events within the “Separate waste collection - we’re changing our habits!” project to be held at Zagreb’s parks and squares
4 September 2019 - On Saturday, September 7, Zagreb Holding Ltd., subsidiary Čistoća is going to commence a series of two-month educational events under the motto “Separate waste collection - we’re changing our habits!” project, which are to take place at Zagreb’s parks and squares

“This is a continuation of educational events that began with the cycle of public lectures held at local committees of the City of Zagreb, which commenced on 9 April 2018 and ended on 16 May 2018. The aim was to educate citizens about the new waste collection system and correct treatment of waste. In that period, a total of 78 public lectures were held, under the name “Separate waste collection - we’re changing our habits!”. The lectures were attended by more than 3000 citizens of Zagreb. They were followed by educational events held at city markets, under the same project name, which took place between 19 April 2019 and June 2019.  We held 27 educational events at 8 markets across the city, dealing with issues of waste prevention, separate waste collection and responsible treatment of waste. Educational events were supported by the Croatian Ski Association, Auto Club INA DELTA, Zagreb Athletic Association, Handball Club Zagreb, PPD, Croatian Academic Water Polo Club Mladost, Basketball Club Cibona and Athletics Club Dinamo-Zrinjevac”, said Mr Trpimir Majcan, Director of a sector at Čistoća.

The aim of the educational events was to inform and educate the citizens on waste prevention, separate waste collection and responsible treatment of waste. Educational events will be held on Saturdays and Sundays at the city’s largest parks and squares.

The event will be a training session on how to sort waste correctly and it will educate citizens, through practical examples, about how to use the bins they received, what sort of waste goes where, who to call and when in situations when bins become full, and other related topics. Workshops will be kid-friendly, offering children the opportunity to have fun drawing in the eco-corner and playing a didactic board game called “Ekodrom” and a computer game called “Ekoforija”.
